There was a sentimental attachment to the 65-year-old bach that had seen children grow up and return with children and grandchildren. Lot’s of happy memories. The desire was to only slightly modify the existing bach and extend living and bedrooms with a twin gable, exposed trusses construction. Sliding doors to the living room and master bedroom open right up to the lawn and sandy beach which is only 10m away. A spectacular location with sea views out to the pristine Tutukaka harbour and beyond.

We designed sliding windows to the kitchen to open up to the land side outdoor dining area, with BBQ and pizza oven. A good place to escape to in the afternoon sun, when the sea breezes become uncomfortable.
